Term Project

Term Project:

 

The term project is designed to coordinate with weekly readings but go considerably beyond them and challenge students to employ their knowledge creatively in one of two forms:

 

1.  Create a work of digital art or new media art that bears a relationship to            an aspect and/or a work or works and/or a critical essay or theory we have covered in the course.

The work will be presented at the end of the course and a short 6 -page paper will provide an analysis of the work in its historical and critical contexts.

 

2.  Create a blog commenting on course readings and materials on an ongoing basis throughout the course.  In this case, student will be providing her/his own textual commentary on the blog itself and will not need to write an additional paper.  However, if the commentary on the blog is not extensive enough or serious enough, the grade will suffer.  The blog  should also contain student’s creative interpretation of course material and add material and ideas, and should be linked to the class blog.

 

Please remember in both cases, regarding the texts associated with your work, please edit your work and do not just ramble on. 

 

All work will be due and graded during the last week of the course (not during the exam period).  EVERY student will be expected to present their present their work to the class and receive their comments.
